Knowledge.
Power.
Hope.

“I believe that telling our stories has the power to change society. I hope that by sharing my personal experiences, I can encourage others to tell their stories – stories that need to be heard.”

About Suzette Grillot

Suzette Grillot is an academic, entrepreneur, and social activist working to change the face of industries and institutions that have been dominated by white males for far too long. She’s building communities and collaborative partnerships to open the doors for more women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ individuals to create, be seen, and share their stories.

Suzette is a professor of international studies at the University of Oklahoma and former Dean of OU’s David L. Boren College of International Studies. Her academic work spans the international arms trade, study abroad programs, containerized freight security, third places, and the global trade in fentanyl. She opened the first all-women owned and operated craft brewery in Oklahoma—Equity Brewing Co. She founded The Third Space Foundation to support small organizations working with marginalized and underserved communities. She shares her stories with the belief that self-reflection, vulnerability, and frank and open discussion will help us create a society that is safe for, welcomes, and celebrates all, not just a select, privileged few.
